Today at Apple’s WWDC many new apple products were released. To name a few, the all new iPhone 3.0 was released today. It includes improved browser speed, audio and video capabilites, a compass and also tethering (unsupported by AT&T at this time). MacBooks/Pros were also updated. The 13″ MacBook is now considered a MacBook Pro which the same unibody design as all the others. They all also now include a 7 hour build in battery (the 17″ still has an 8 hour battery), as well as an SD slot and new displays. Safari 4 was also released for Mac OS and Windows, which is faster than any other browser at this time. The final major release was that of Snow Leopard. It includes performance increases in many different areas as 90% of the OS was revamped from Leopard OSX. Major features include OpenCL, Grand Central, Mail, Safari 4 and Spotlight. Snow Leopard will be sold for $29 as an upgrade for Leopard users starting in September of 2009. The low price point is to get as many people to switch as possible because it is now the preferred OS.
The price of all MacBook Pros (and Air) was also decreased, most around $300. I will be buying myself a nice 15″ Pro come September
