A new bill was passed on Friday (6/19/2009) called the “Cash for Clunkers” Bill. In a nutshell it says that if your car or truck (year 1984 or newer) gets 18 miles per gallon or less they will give you money. You get $3500 if you buy a new car/truck that gets at least 4mpg more than your old vehicle, or $4500 if the new one gets 10mpg. One stipulation is that the car must have been insured for at least one year by the same person.

This is complete bs! The government is rewarded people for being dumb. Let’s think about it. I bought a car that gets 32mpg highway because I do a lot of driving. So what I did here was THINK before I bought. Because of this new bill I will be indirectly punished. How? Since I was smart in the first place I can’t get money towards a new car! Wtf is that? But the asshole who bought a 5mpg Hummer will get more money? Yea that’s fair. Let’s reward people who willingly ruin the environment and oppress those who don’t.
